New Ford Territory SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) |
Ford Australia has unveiled the new Territory SUV for the market down. Following an extensive development program the covers finally came out of the new model Ford Territory highly anticipated. Australian designed-and-developed SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) has undergone an extensive visual update inside and out. The new area wearing a cropped style of Ford's kinetic design language and a bold new look makes it instantly recognizable as a member of a comprehensive family of Ford Models.
This new area was designed and developed by Ford's Australian unit but the SUV likely to have design elements that we will see in the next Escape (North America) and Kuga (Europe) generations maturing later this year as a 2012 model.
Redesign the multi-award-winning Ford Territory meant building on already clean and attractive appearance, the result of the first-generation Territory original design goal: to create a vehicle that embodied the strength and power of a traditional SUV while having the prestige, agility and nimbleness of a sporting sedan. The new Ford Territory has taken this to another level.

Although some components such as doors, mirrors, lift gate and assorted trim carrying over from the region come out, apparently this is the new second generation model. Significant number of external redesigning is found at the front and rear end, hood, quarter panels, fenders and lights around. The interior has also been completely redesigned although the overal layout remains the same as the 5 or 7 seater.
Unfortunately, Ford did not provide any powertrain details on the model and waste press release with glowing prose on the model of 'kinetic design' feature. And the release does not mention anything about the TDCi badge on the top level Titanium models either. Edition turbo-diesel is expected for the first time in the Territory range. Undoubtedly, Ford Australia will release powertrain details prior to market launch in April.

This area is the work of the Ford Australia design team, overseen by Chris Svensson, who's Design Director of Ford Asia Pacific and Africa.
“We work hard to ensure the new Territory was an evolution of the original model and, through the use of Ford's distinct design DNA, also gave hint of the future", Svensson said, in a press release.
But look at the picture of Territoty here, we can only hope stodgier elements that will be left aside for his brother and fled Kuga models.
